Industrial Society and its Future by Theodore Kaczynski

Technological Slavery: Enhanced Edition:

Logical, lucid, and direct, Technological Slavery radically reinvigorates and reforms the intellectual foundations of an age-old and resurgent worldview: "Progress" is a myth. Wild nature and humanity are fundamentally incompatible with technological growth. In Technological Slavery, Kaczynski argues that: (i) the unfolding human and environmental crises are the direct, inevitable result of technology itself; (ii) many of the stresses endured in contemporary life are not normal to the human condition, but unique to technological conditions; (iii) wilderness and human life close to nature are realistic and supreme ideals; and, (iv) a revolution to eliminate modern technology and attain these ideals is necessary and far more achievable than would first appear. Drawing on a broad range of disciplines, Kaczynski weaves together a set of visionary social theories to form a revolutionary perspective on the dynamics of history and the evolution of societies. The result is a comprehensive challenge to the fundamental values and assumptions of the modern technology-driven world, pinning the cause of the rapidly unfolding catastrophe on technology itself, while offering a realistic hope for ultimate recovery. Note: Theodore John Kaczynski does not receive any remuneration for this book.

Microstate of Liechtenstein:

By 1200, dominions across the Alpine plateau were controlled by the Houses of Savoy, Zähringer, Habsburg, and Kyburg. Other regions were accorded the Imperial immediacy that granted the empire direct control over the mountain passes. When the Kyburg dynasty fell in 1264, the Habsburgs under King Rudolph I, the Holy Roman Emperor in 1273, extended their territory to the eastern Alpine plateau.

In early colonial days of America colleges were built around religion. Later the colleges were developed by the Land Grants Acts. In Kentucky the University of Kentucky is the 1862 land-grant school and Kentucky State University is the 1890 land-grant school.

The Morrill Act of 1862

Morrill and his Republican allies saw a new opportunity to pass an agricultural college bill. The secession of Southern states meant there would be far less opposition. In 1861, Morrill resubmitted the act with the amendment that the proposed institutions would teach military tactics as well as engineering and agriculture.[8] The reconfigured Morrill Act was signed into law by President Abraham Lincoln on July 2, 1862. The 1862 act provided each state land scrip for 30,000 acres (120 km2) of public land for each of its representatives and senators in Congress. Sale of this scrip funded the beginning of land-grant colleges. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morrill_Land-Grant_Acts
