The Type 99 sniper rifle (九九式狙撃銃, Kyūkyū-shiki sogeki-jū) was a Japanese sniper rifle used during the Second World War. It was a sniper version of the Type 99 rifle, chambered in the 7.7×58mm round.

Bell & Howell's Joe McNabb sponsored Charles Percy as he worked his way through the University of Chicago and a stint in the navy during WWII.
In the darkest chapter of Percy’s life to date, one of his 21 year-old daughters, Valerie, was violently murdered in the family Mansion in Kenilworth, September 1966 by an unknown assailant. Charles halted his campaign for weeks but eventually returned to the trail and earned a surprising victory. His daughter’s murder case, however, carried on unsolved for another 20 years, and was eventually abandoned as such. Robbery was ruled out, and to this day, no firm suspect has ever emerged.
It’s worth noting that Charles Percy never had any suspicion thrown his way either.
Sharon Percy the twin married Jay Rockefeller about a year later.
Born December 10, 1944
Oakland, California, U.S.

"There were comments made by the Chicago Police Department detective who was involved in the case saying it appeared the family was allowed to leave town for an extended period of time and not available for comment early in the investigation. So that's the type of issue we think ought to be scrutinized," said Matt Topic, FOIA attorney.
