A friend of mine is thinking of selling his home because of a glut of people that have moved to his area and it's becoming overcrowded. He's thinking of moving to one of these 55+ retirement communities and as he was describing it to me with all the social venues and exercise equipment, it sounded like some form of a FEMA settlement. In fact if you look at all the retirement communities in the Miami Florida area, they remind me of what I could consider FEMA settlements - one big smoking ball of energy zapping communities that are there to take what you have - especially with their $900 / mo + HOA feels in many instances.
Just wondering about your thoughts on this subject.
